My colossal review of Super Mario Bros. 3 is now up and running. I got myself a Wii U with New Super Mario Bros. U, which is thanks to the preorder I made back in September. I'm not big on the whole touchscreen controller thing, but I can always enjoy a good Mario game. The controller is surprisingly comfortable to use despite its unusual girth and uncanny resemblance to the Dreamcast pad, so I'm okay with it. It's also a lot more functional than a regular Wii remote due to its wealth of buttons and dual analog sticks. I look forward to what Nintendo does with this hardware.

Super Mario Bros. 2 has been added to the review section. I also picked up Paper Mario: Sticker Star for the 3DS. It's a pretty cool game. In more somber news, the Nintendo Power magazine will be publishing its final issue next month. I've been reading Nintendo Power since 1995 and have had an active subscription to it since 1998. I haven't had much need for game magazines in the past decade, so my continued subscription to Nintendo Power was more out of tradition than actual use. In any case, it's sad to see this one go. It's truly the end of an era.
